Gurugram is the alternate extension of Delhi for the IT and business entities. People often have to travel from Gurugram to Delhi for work and business. The roadways connecting to Gurugram to Delhi was hazardous. The Government was facing many complain regarding the congestion around this area and hence planned to construct an expressway in 2006.

About Dwarka Expressway

The Dwarka Expressway or NH 248-BB or Northern Peripheral road is a 29km project expected to wrap up by May 2021. It is being completed in small series extending further into Haryana at one end and Delhi at the other end. It is an 8-lane signal-free highway linking Delhi to Gurugram. The expressway extends 18.9 km in Gurugram and 10.1 km into Delhi.

The expressway provides uninterrupted movement, forbidding chaos and delay. It also allows direct movement to IGI, which is a crucial point of connect, for international business delegates entering Delhi and Gurugram.

Hurdles faced during construction

To accomplish such a great program the government needed land. The land is not free and is occupied by people or by trees and plants in the form of jungles. The land needs to be cleared to get the construction moving. Clearing the trees creates environment hazards, and it was not a matter of few trees but 13,700, which the Delhi government promised to grow saplings in some other areas. Such processes take long official clearance that often delays the progress beating the deadlines.

The landowners around were offered land in other areas and were requested to clear the area. There were 21 structures near Khekri Daula village that needed to be removed to get through the process of Dwarka Expressway. 20 structures were demolished with just one structure remaining which will soon be demolished.

The Central Peripheral Road commonly known as CPR has 16 structures that may include houses, shops, and Arya Samaj building; which have to be removed as they are restricting connectivity of CPR to SPR- Southern Peripheral road via Dwarka expressway.

Similarly, many newly constructed structures are bulldozed to clear way to Dwarka Expressway. Creating a new structure has never been easy. It requires a lot of demolition and relocation. Apparently for a progressive society construction of the new structure is necessary. Launched 10 years ago Dwarka expressway project has failed its deadlines many times. However, the real estate around Dwarka expressway is booming. You can check on https://www.dwarkaexpressway.com/ for best suggestions.
