Dwarka Expressway, a groundbreaking project aimed at decongesting Delhi’s traffic, is swiftly progressing towards completion within the next 3-4 months, as announced by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday. This elevated urban expressway, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 10,000 crore, will be executed in four packages.
The visionary road transport minister highlighted that Dwarka Expressway will incorporate advanced features such as a fully-automated tolling system and an intelligent transportation system (ITS), ensuring seamless and efficient traffic management.
Spanning a length of 29 km, Dwarka Expressway begins near Shiv Murti on NH-8 and extends up to the Kherki Daula Toll plaza on NH-8. The expressway’s route consists of 18.9 km in Haryana, with the remaining 10.1 km situated in Delhi.
One of the key advantages of Dwarka Expressway is its role in providing enhanced connectivity from Dwarka to the Indira Gandhi International Airport, significantly reducing travel time for airport-bound commuters.
Additionally, the proposed Dwarka Expressway will serve as a direct access route to the upcoming India International Convention Centre located in sector 25 of Dwarka, offering convenient transportation options for event attendees and participants.
With its innovative design, state-of-the-art features, and strategic connectivity, Dwarka Expressway is poised to revolutionize Delhi’s transportation landscape, addressing congestion challenges and facilitating smoother and more efficient movement for commuters.
