During an inspection of the nearly completed Dwarka Expressway, Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav announced the creation of four mini forests, often referred to as “mini Amazons.” These green spaces will be strategically established at all four points of the cloverleaf on NH-48 using innovative techniques.

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled plans to implement the ‘Miyawaki’ afforestation technique in order to enhance greenery on the cloverleaf situated at the NH-48 interchange of Dwarka Expressway. As part of this initiative, four small ‘forests’ will be developed using the Miyawaki method, also known as “mini Amazons,” at each of the four points of the cloverleaf.

The Miyawaki technique involves the cultivation of rapidly growing groves of native plants, creating dense, mixed planting that mimics the layers of a natural forest.

Dwarka Expressway, which is nearing completion, will connect Mahipalpur in the national capital to Kherki Daula on NH-48 in Gurgaon. During an inspection of the expressway, Chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav, accompanied by Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority CEO PC Meena and Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav, surveyed the stretch from Bajghera to the cloverleaf interchange area.

The new expressway is expected to improve connectivity between Gurgaon and Delhi’s IGI Airport. Its length measures 18.9 km in the Haryana region and 10.1 km in the Delhi region.

During the inspection, Chairman Yadav also discussed the project’s progress and coordination with the Deputy Commissioner, GMDA CEO, and NHAI officials.
